Delete your account
Sigilla lets you delete your account from inside the app, at no cost and without giving a reason. This page says how, and what happens next.
From the app
Three taps, from Settings:
- Data;
- Delete my account;
- Delete my account, on the screen that explains what happens: that is the confirmation.
An account created with an email address needs that address to be verified; an account created with Google already is. If the address is not verified yet, Settings › Data sends the verification email again; you can also write to contact@sigilla-app.com from that address.
Fourteen days to change your mind
The account is paused at once and the device is signed out. For 14 days, signing in again and tapping “Reactivate” brings it back as it was.
What is erased
After those 14 days, everything Sigilla keeps about you is erased: your account, your readings, your practices, your grimoire, your observations, your photos and your exports, in every part of the service and in file storage.
The encrypted backups of the database follow their own cycle: each daily backup is kept 30 days, and three monthly backups besides. Erased data may therefore remain in them for up to about three months, until those archives reach the end of their life.
All that remains is the anonymised evidence that the terms were accepted — the account's creation and deletion dates and the version accepted, with no address and no name —, kept for the legal retention period, apart from any personal content.
Without access to your account
If you can no longer sign in, write to contact@sigilla-app.com from your account's email address, asking for its deletion.
The account is then paused by hand within 7 days, and the same 14 days begin: signing in and tapping “Reactivate” during that time brings it back, then everything is erased as described above.
This page has no form: the email sent from the account's address is enough.
